There will be live entertainment, children’s activities, seafood and more. The dock at the end of Mellen Street was built by the city and is designed for use by both visitors and local residents. The event includes a sock-burning ceremony — a boating tradition that marks the return of spring. Attendees are invited to bring an old pair of socks to burn, as well as a pair of new socks to donate to the Salvation Army. The ribbon-cutting and sock-burning will be followed by a community festival. For more information, visit www.phoebusva.com and go to "events."
