Community Plan Checkpoint Meeting

We’re at the halfway point! Join us on Wednesday, Feb. 15th from 6:30 – 8:00 pm to hear steering group committee members provide an update on where the city is in the community plan process, learn how you can provide input, and find out what is to happen next. Media, Marketing, and Advertising 101 (Wavy TV 10)

Learn about the broadcasting and marketing services in Hampton. This program, led by Ryan Adams from Wavy TV 10, gives the opportunity to learn how to partner with Wavy 10 for public awareness campaigns on various issues to amplify important community messaging.

Defensive Driving Course — For City Employees

The course is required for employees who operate a city vehicle and intended for employees who want refresher training; details below. The class is limited to 20 participants.

Teetotalers and Moonshiners, and Hampton’s Prohibition Story

The exhibit combines content from the Virginia Library’s 2017 exhibit “Teetotalers and Moonshiners: Virginia’s Prohibition Experiment” with research and artifacts from the Hampton History Museum on the local experience. "Hampton's Prohibition Story" features myriad items to tell the story, including dozens of photographs; numerous bottles, jugs and other containers; games, smoking accoutrements, beverage dispenser, signs and materials of saloon culture; service ware, promotional items and memorabilia from Point Comfort resorts, Phoebus police and fire department items, doctor bag and instruments; and moonshine still components on loan from the Museum of the Albemarle. The exhibit continues through February 4, 2024.

Credit & Budgeting Readiness

This 5-week workshop will help participants effectively address the financial demands and challenges of life. Teenagers and adults searching for financial readiness skills are encouraged to participate. The program explores the topic of budgeting, disciplined spending, credit readiness and gratitude. Meaningful open ended questions will assist with creating positive financial visions for each participant. Individuals will respond with understanding their own self-generated explanation increasing commitment to their life changing financial success.
