  1. A Splash of the Arts

    Hampton History Museum

    Hampton City Schools, through Arts for Learning, the Virginia Affiliate of Young Audiences, and with the support of the Hampton History Museum and Downtown Hampton Development Partnership, is hosting free arts and entertainment on Saturdays in July. The program will include performances in music, art, theater, storytelling, dance, and more. The events will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and are free of charge.

  2. Mystical Arts of Tibet: Creation of Sand Mandala

    The American Theatre

    The American Theatre opens its doors for a weekend of personal reflection and inspiration as the Tibetan monks of Drepung Loseling Monastery return to create a sand-painted mandala. The monks’ presence and creation of the sand mandala have become an anticipated summer event in Coastal Virginia, offering visitors the opportunity to observe an ancient tradition believed to cultivate wisdom and compassion.

  3. Hampton Roads Tattoo Festival

    Hampton Roads Convention Center

    The Hampton Roads Tattoo Festival returns to the Hampton Roads Convention Center for three days this weekend, with more than 200 artists on site doing live inking. Walk-ins are accepted, but go to the website to see the list of artists attending, with contact info for reservations. The show also features demonstrations, live music, contests and door prizes. Hours are noon-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, noon-8 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $25 per day, $45 for the weekend, with a discount for military.

Join us on Saturday, July 30 at the Fort Monroe Visitor & Education Center from 11 am and 1 pm for a book reading of "Over and Under the Pond" by Kate Messner with one of the Hampton Public Library - Hampton, VA staff members. The Fort Monroe Visitor & Education Center is located at 30 Ingalls Road. Free admission and free parking. See you on Saturday!

    The Buckroe Beach Farmers Market is open each Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., May 7 through Oct. 29, including themed market days. Vendors will be located on the grassy area surrounding the Buckroe Beach gazebo and will sell local produce, baked goods, sausage, seafood, jarred food items and more.
