    The Annual Family Get Fit Back to School giveaway will be a drive thru event Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon. The Hampton NAACP event will distribute free school supplies and boxes of food at the Y.H. Thomas Community Center at 1300 Thomas St. Donations of school supplies, masks and nonperishable food, such as canned goods, for the giveaway can be dropped off at the Y.H. Thomas, Northampton, and West Hampton community centers in Hampton. For more information, call 757-287-0277.

    We all know parenting takes plenty of work and lots of creativity! It’s not easy to do it alone and we all need support. Our new Circle of Parents program – REAL TALK – will give you safe space to discuss the ups, downs and in–between of raising children during this new time with other parenting adults. Our trained facilitators will be a great resource and helpful sounding board. Topics will change each week, but you’ll also get to discuss issues important to you and your family. So, join REAL TALK and be a part of a caring community sharing thoughts and ideas to build each other up!
