  1. All Breed Dog Show

    Langley Kennel Club, Virginia Beach Kennel Club and Chesapeake Virginia Dog Fanciers Association will be co-hosting their Hampton Harvest Cluster Dog Show. This event is a 5 day AKC Sanctioned All Breed Dog Show similar to the Westminster Dog Show seen on television. Come out and get up close and personal with the dogs. Go behind the scenes and talk with the groomers, handlers and breeders. Shop at the huge variety of doggie related vendors and take something home for your own Champion. The doors open at 8:00 a.m. Admission and Parking are FREE. Come experience the exciting world of an AKC Sanctioned All Breed Dog Show and help cheer your favorite breed to the coveted title of “Best in Show”

    The Hand and Foot card game is a game, which is often compared to Canasta. The objective of the game is to get rid of the two sets of cards in your hand, known as the hand and the foot. Each player is dealt a hand of cards. In the center of the table is a face-down pile of cards called the stock and a face-up pile called the discard pile. Come learn to play if you don't know how.

  3. Nominate a senior for Senior Citizenship of the Year Award

    Did you know one of Hampton’s most valuable resources is its senior population? The Hampton Senior Citizens Advisory Committee along with Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services, Hampton Health Department, Hampton Department of Human Services, and the Peninsula Agency on Aging Inc. will celebrate and honor seniors, ages 70 and up, for their valuable contributions to the community. Seniors are vibrant, spirited and caring individuals. We are looking for seniors who have enhanced the community to include engagement with others, volunteerism, and selfless acts of service in the community. If you know any deserving seniors, please nominate them at the link. A celebratory luncheon is scheduled to be held at 10 a.m., Dec. 3, 2019, at the Senior Center.

    The ELEVATE program is designed to provide families with a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children while the parents are at work. Students in the program receive help with their homework and receive tutoring. They also participate in various recreational activities. The program also offers different enrichment activities. The program also partners with the Foodbank and allows our participants to receive a snack and dinner on a daily basis. For ages 6-12.

This show includes works by guest artists Kwabena Ampfo-Anti, Chinedu Okala, and Solomon Isekeije, who provide powerful visual statements that relate to HUMA’s African Gallery and Dr. William H. Shepherd’s extensive collection of Kuba artifacts. These artists work in a variety of styles and media; this show aims to provide them long overdue recognition.
