  1. Nominate a senior for Senior Citizenship of the Year Award

    September 1, 2019 - November 1, 2019 @ Senior Center

    Did you know one of Hampton’s most valuable resources is its senior population? The Hampton Senior Citizens Advisory Committee along with Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services, Hampton Health Department, Hampton Department of Human Services, and the Peninsula Agency on Aging Inc. will celebrate and honor seniors, ages 70 and up, for their valuable contributions to the community. Seniors are vibrant, spirited and caring individuals. We are looking for seniors who have enhanced the community to include engagement with others, volunteerism, and selfless acts of service in the community. If you know any deserving seniors, please nominate them at the link. There will be a celebratory luncheon Dec. 2 at the Senior Center.

    Beyond the Bell is a quality recreational before and after school program offering activities within a safe, structured, and encouraging environment. Children explore a variety of activities daily including academic enrichment, arts & crafts, recreational play and more. Snack and Dinner will be provided. Ages 6-12.   3. Tret Fure in Concert

    September 18, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Hampton History Museum

    Enjoy an evening of original music with multi-award-winning singer/songwriter Tret Fure as part of our monthly music series. While Newport News, VA is home to Fure, she spends much of the year on the road, sharing her talents at venues and festivals around the country. The Hampton History Museum concert is a rare opportunity for area fans, and lovers of finely crafted storytelling folk music, to hear her on her own turf. Tret Fure began her career at the age of 16, singing in coffeehouses and campuses in the Midwest. A prolific artists in the contemporary singer-songwriter arena, Tret Fure has released 16 albums and CDs over the course of her 48 year career. Now Tret has released a stunning collection of songs on her latest CD "Roses in November”. You will hear music from her most recent release, as well as from her highly acclaimed catalog of songs. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Hampton History Museum.
