  1. July 5 Fort Monroe Fun and Fireworks

    July 5, 2019, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Fort Monroe

    This traditional Fort Monroe event includes live music, food vendors, family-friendly activities and a spectacular fireworks show. Earlier in the day, visitors have use of the beaches, picnic areas, campground, fishing pier, waterfront restaurants and the craft brewery.

  1. A Taste of the Beautiful: African Impact on American Culture

    July 5, 2019, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Hampton University Museum

    “A Taste for the Beautiful” showcases the works of numerous artists that have attended Hampton University, and have been influenced directly and indirectly by African culture. This show includes works by guest artists Kwabena Ampfo-Anti, Chinedu Okala, and Solomon Isekeije, who provide powerful visual statements that relate to HUMA’s African Gallery and Dr. William H. Shepherd’s extensive collection of Kuba artifacts. These artists work in a variety of styles and media; this show aims to provide them long overdue recognition.
