  4. Rolling of the Bulls

    July 13, 2019, 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Downtown Hampton at Queens Way

Inspired by the Running of the Bulls event in Spain, the Rolling of the Bulls in Hampton will feature participants running from roller derby Girls armed with horns and wiffle ball bats. Registration for the free run begins on-site at 5:45 p.m. The main event begins with a half-mile run through the gantlet of derby girls. After the run is the "bull fight," followed by La Balloontina, where participants will be pelted by water balloons filled with red food coloring (modeled after La Tomatina event in Spain). The winner is whoever has the most unstained white clothing after 2,000 balloons have been thrown. Each runner MUST wear white (so the girls know exactly who to hit) and creativity is highly suggested. The day begins at 3 p.m. with the fundraiser on the deck at Marker 20 for the Dominion Derby Girls. A fee of $15 gets you paella, 2 drinks, and a custom red scarf. A fee of $25 gets you VIP, which includes all of the above, plus a swag bag. Register at the link.
