  1. Bike Month — Tour de Fort

    May 19, 2019, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Oozlefinch Craft Brewery

    To celebrate both National Bike Month and Hampton Bike Month, the City of Hampton, in partnership with Oozlefinch Craft Brewery and many bicycle loving volunteers, bring you the third Tour de Fort. Explore Fort Monroe and surrounding areas by bicycle on guided rides. With rides ranging from 3 miles to 20 miles, there is a route for everyone. All rides will begin and end at Oozlefinch Craft Brewery. Information on rides and pre-registration is available at eventbrite: Parking: Please park in lots adjacent to the Oozlefinch Craft Brewery (not their actual parking lot) or use the Fort Monroe Community Center parking. Bicycles: It is necessary to provide your own bicycle for the event. Helmet: Per Hampton City Code, all participants 14 years and younger must wear a helmet. We strongly encourage all ages to wear a helmet.

Citizens Unity Commission

  1. Nominate for Unity Awards

    Hampton’s Citizens’ Unity Commission is accepting applications for the 2019 Unity Awards, which will be presented on Friday, June 7, at 6:30 p.m. in The American Theatre, 125 E. Mellen St. The awards celebrate the accomplishments of the commission and acknowledge people who have made positive contributions toward diversity and inclusion in Hampton. To learn more about the commission, or to nominate an individual, business or initiative for the Unity Award, please visit The deadline for submissions is Monday, May 20.   1. Civil War Journey: The Maps and Sketches of Private Robert Sneden exhibit

    "Civil War Journey" is an extraordinary touring exhibition organized by the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. Eyewitness accounts and images from the Civil War memoir of Union soldier, cartographer, and Confederate prisoner of war Robert Knox Sneden are showcased in an exhibition of 45 watercolor maps and drawings that provide a unique and mesmerizing perspective on the Civil War. The exhibit opens Nov. 3, 2018.
