    Beyond the Bell is a quality recreational before and after school program offering activities within a safe, structured, and encouraging environment. Children explore a variety of activities daily including academic enrichment, arts & crafts, recreational play and more. Snack and Dinner will be provided. Ages 6-12.     The ELEVATE program is designed to provide families with a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children while the parents are at work. Students in the program receive help with their homework and receive tutoring. They also participate in various recreational activities. The program also offers different enrichment activities. The program also partners with the Foodbank and allows our participants to receive a snack and dinner on a daily basis. For ages 6-12.

  2. A Taste of the Beautiful: African Impact on American Culture

    “A Taste for the Beautiful” showcases the works of numerous artists that have attended Hampton University, and have been influenced directly and indirectly by African culture. This show includes works by guest artists Kwabena Ampfo-Anti, Chinedu Okala, and Solomon Isekeije, who provide powerful visual statements that relate to HUMA’s African Gallery and Dr. William H. Shepherd’s extensive collection of Kuba artifacts. These artists work in a variety of styles and media; this show aims to provide them long overdue recognition.

    This class is a 5 session science-based program for parents and their teens who have violated their city’s curfew. The goal of this program is to help parents develop positive family-management and discipline practices and get parents and teens working together to build skills needed for reducing risks to the teen’s health and safety. Class meets on Mondays. Must attend all 5 classes to receive Certificate of Completion.
