  1. Buckroe Beach Farmers Market

    The Buckroe Beach Farmers Market is open each Saturday, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., May 5 through Nov. 17. The market is closed June 2, July 21, Sept. 8 and Nov. 3. The June 9 market is a fitness market, Aug. 4 is a pet market, and Nov. 3 will be a beer festival instead. Vendors will be located on the grassy area surrounding the Buckroe Beach gazebo and will sell local produce, baked goods, sausage, seafood, jarred food items and more.

  1. ‘NASA: Hampton Takes Flight’ exhibit

    March 17, 2018, 10:00 AM - December 1, 2018, 5:00 PM @ Hampton History Museum

    The story of Hampton’s leading role in aeronautics and space exploration is presented in the exhibit “NASA: Hampton Takes Flight.” In this update to the museum’s Hampton History Galleries, visitors can experience 100 years of NASA history from its early days as NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) to the Space Race. The exhibit celebrates the NACA and NASA’s singular history and immeasurable contribution to the Hampton community. This installation features artifacts and images recently acquired from NASA Langley Research Center. This will be the first step in refreshing the museum’s 20th Century Galleries, and accompanies “When the Computer Wore a Skirt: NASA’s Human Computers,” that opened in January 2017.

  2. Civil War Journey: The Maps and Sketches of Private Robert Sneden exhibit opens

    "Civil War Journey" is an extraordinary touring exhibition organized by the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. Eyewitness accounts and images from the Civil War memoir of Union soldier, cartographer, and Confederate prisoner of war Robert Knox Sneden are showcased in an exhibition of 45 watercolor maps and drawings that provide a unique and mesmerizing perspective on the Civil War. The exhibit opens Nov. 3, 2018.

Hampton History Museum

  1. Hampton Carousel

    November 17, 2018, 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM @ Carousel Park & Hampton Carousel

    Built in 1920, the carousel is completely restored to its original beauty and housed in its own weather-protected pavilion on the city’s downtown waterfront. It is one of only 170 antique wooden merry-go-rounds still existing in the U.S. The carousel closes in January for the season and reopens in April. Rides are $1 per ride. Tickets on sale at the Hampton History Museum and at the Carousel. Call 757-727-1610 for more information.
