This quartet of talented musicians offer up a special evening for folks new to the blues as well as die-hard blues fans, with their interpretations of classic tunes from the prewar delta masters and the early '50s blues artists, such as Son House, Robert Johnson, Tampa Red, Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon, T-Bone Walker and The Three Kings just to name a few!
The Delta Daggers are Cole Steven, guitar and vocals; Mike Kazalski, bass and vocals, Peter Zink, drums and vocals, and special guest Rob Oliver on harmonica.
Beer and wine are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the museum.

This program takes place throughout the school year Monday-Friday, 2-6 p.m., at the Fort Monroe, West Hampton and Northampton community centers from Sept. 4-June 14. Participants receive homework assistance, play group games, and bond with friends in a safe, structured environment. Dinner and snack will be provided. Cost is $25 per week for Parks and Recreation members, and $35 per week for non-members. The story of Hampton’s leading role in aeronautics and space exploration is presented in the exhibit “NASA: Hampton Takes Flight.” In this update to the museum’s Hampton History Galleries, visitors can experience 100 years of NASA history from its early days as NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) to the Space Race. The exhibit celebrates the NACA and NASA’s singular history and immeasurable contribution to the Hampton community. This installation features artifacts and images recently acquired from NASA Langley Research Center. This will be the first step in refreshing the museum’s 20th Century Galleries, and accompanies “When the Computer Wore a Skirt: NASA’s Human Computers,” that opened in January 2017.

"Civil War Journey" is an extraordinary touring exhibition organized by the Virginia Museum of History & Culture. Eyewitness accounts and images from the Civil War memoir of Union soldier, cartographer, and Confederate prisoner of war Robert Knox Sneden are showcased in an exhibition of 45 watercolor maps and drawings that provide a unique and mesmerizing perspective on the Civil War. The exhibit opens Nov. 3, 2018.

Built in 1920, the carousel is completely restored to its original beauty and housed in its own weather-protected pavilion on the city’s downtown waterfront. It is one of only 170 antique wooden merry-go-rounds still existing in the U.S. The carousel closes in January for the season and reopens in April. Rides are $1 per ride. Steinhilber, JD, Research Assistant Professor, Commonwealth Center for Recurrent Flooding Resiliency, Office of Research, Old Dominion University for the latest developments in combatting sea level rise. We experience flooding first-hand in our streets many times a year and read often in the news that our region is one of the most vulnerable, nationally, to sea level rise. But we also know our local economy and quality of life is closely tied to our waterways. Learn more about the risks our region faces from a high rate of relative sea level rise and changing precipitation patterns as well as new research and adaptation strategies being employed right now across the region to help us all live with the water.
