[ARCHIVED] Sergeant Building 6th Floor Network Maintenance Window on Sat. Oct. 18th.

Description:  The switching hardware located on the 6th Floor of the Sergeant Building needs to be upgraded to both provide improved services and to ensure continued reliability.

When: Begins Saturday Morning at approximately 9 AM, October 18, 2014 and continues until completed sometime on Saturday afternoon.

Who is Affected?  This will affect all users located on the 6th Floor of the Sergeant Building. All Internet and server access from the 6th Floor will be down. Remote access to HRHA servers will also be down.

What will occur:  Beginning at 9 AM, IT will begin removing the old network switching hardware, and replacing it with new hardware.

Special instructions: No need for action by customers or IT staff.  Should any user located on the 6th Floor of the Sergeant Building experience issues with their PCs or printers on Monday morning, please power the device off, wait a minute, and then power it back on. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact the IT Helpdesk, helpdesk@hampton.gov, or call the 311 Call Center.

A follow-up email will be sent at completion the upgrade.  This change must be completed to ensure that the system overall stays in a “supported” status.
