[ARCHIVED] 2014 Veterans Stand Down

The Hampton VA Medical Center Veteran Homelessness Program and the Hampton Military Affairs Committee are co-sponsoring “A Stand Down for Homeless and At-Risk Veterans and their Families” on Saturday, November 15th, at the Y. H. Thomas Community Center in Hampton. This "Stand Down" is a one-day event serving veterans and their families who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. With assistance from government and community agencies who serve the homeless, as well as churches and volunteers from local community, the Stand Down will provide food, clothing, showers, health screenings and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as health and housing programs, employment assistance, and benefits and claims counseling. If interested in further information or willing to volunteer to help through provision of supplies or labor, please contact Marti Chick-Ebey at Martha.Chick@va.gov or 722-9961 x1285.
