gro-250

June 16, 2022 — The popular Groovin’ by the Bay concert series is moving from Buckroe Beach to a downtown location at Mill Point Park.

The move, which was necessitated by capacity concerns at the Buckroe location, is effective immediately. The series, which takes place on Sundays, will not be able to be held every week due to scheduling conflicts at Mill Point Park on those dates.

The free concerts, at 5 p.m. on Sundays, will resume at Mill Point Park on June 26 with a performance by the Janitors. It will continue with Myra Smith on July 17, Intangible Cats on July 24, Wonderland on Aug. 21 and Joselyn Best on Aug. 28.

The Groovin’ by the Bay series has its roots in various live music series at Buckroe dating back at least four decades under different names.
