[ARCHIVED] Hampton's Regional Job Fair set for April 7

March 24 — The City of Hampton will host a Regional Job Fair on Thursday, April 7, at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

More than 100 companies and municipal departments will be meeting with prospective employees at the job fair, which will run from 9 a.m.-noon. There is no charge to attend, and guests are encouraged to bring resumes.

Businesses actively recruiting at the event will include Newport News Shipbuilding, Langley Credit Union, Amazon, Valkyrie Enterprise Inc., ITA International, Great Wolf Lodge and General Dynamics Information Technology.

Hampton’s Department of Public Works will be at the event, as well as the Hampton Steam Plant and representatives from other cities and counties.

The City of Hampton, its WorkOne Center and its Economic Development office are working on this job fair along with the Virginia Employment Commission and Virginia Career Works for the Hampton Roads Region. The purpose of the event is to help job seeks gain employment and to help businesses make necessary hires.

The Hampton Roads Convention Center is located at 1610 Coliseum Drive, across from the Hampton Coliseum.
