[ARCHIVED] EVENT CANCELLED - EVER-G & The Krew - Wednesday, April 20

EVER-G square

It is with a heavy heart that we have learned that Everett Streete (EVER-G) has suffered a stroke. The concert is cancelled. Everett and his family are in our thoughts.

Experience an evening of original reggae music with EVER-G & The Krew!

Hampton resident, EVER-G, writes and sings positive and uplifting songs of peace, love and unity. His messages of Jah, family, peace and love of life come through powerfully in his music. Although musically influenced by Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Bunny Wailer, as well as an admirer of the harmonies of the Wailers, Curtis Mayfield and the Impressions, EVER-G has a distinctive and sophisticated style of his own, which is appreciated by music lovers everywhere and has garnered him an international fan base.

Hailing from Hanover, Jamaica, singing from the age of four and performing live since the age of sixteen, EVER-G released his first album, “World Peace” in 1999. He has been the recipient of numerous awards for his musical and professional contributions to and for the Reggae music industry. He is currently working on his 9th album.

A consummate performer, EVER-G has graced the stage, as the Support Act, of many of Reggae’s greats including: Steel Pulse, Third World,  Shabba Ranks and Gregory Isaacs.

EVER-G has been compared to some of the great Reggae artists which he accepts as compliments, and caused the entertainer to say “Music is at the core of my being from which I am positively inspired to write about and spread the message of peace, love and unity.”

For this performance, EVER-G will be accompanied by The Krew, featuring the talents of Tuff Lion, bass; Drummah Jay, drums; Jimmy Salvador, guitar; Iratio, keyboards; and Wanda M., vocals.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Hampton History Museum.

The event is held in the museum’s Great Hall. Admission is free for museum members, $5 for non-members. Admission is at the door. Doors open at 5:30 pm.

The Hampton History Museum is located at 120 Old Hampton Lane in Downtown Hampton. There is free parking in the garage across the street from the museum. For more information call 757-727-1102 or visit www.hamptonhistorymuseum.org
