[ARCHIVED] Spring break camps and activities around Hampton

Fort Monroe Community Center - Front 2

March 11, 2022 - Hampton’s parks and libraries will be offering a wide range of camps and activities for students during the week of April 4-8 when Hampton City Schools are on spring break.

 Here is a look at some of the options. Some of the camps have limited spots, so pre-registration is strongly encouraged. To register for Parks and Recreation camps, click here.

Camp Hampton

 Schedule: April 4-8, from 7a.m.- 6p.m.
 Where: Fort Monroe Community Center (100 Stillwell Rd.), Northampton Community Center (1435-A Todds Lane) and West Hampton Community Center (1638 Briarfield Rd.)
 Ages: 6-14
 Cost: $20 per child non-refundable registration fee. For members, $80 for the full week, and $75 for each additional child. For non-members, $100 weekly fee, and $95 for each additional.
 Description: Activities will include swimming, rock climbing, field trips. Must bring lunch and snack.

Basketball Camp

 Schedule: April 4-8, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
 Where: North Phoebus Community Center (249 W. Chamberlin Ave.)
 Ages: 8-14
 Cost: $20 per child non-refundable registration fee, $50 per child per week
 Description: Small group training sessions for players of all ages and skill levels to learn the fundamentals of basketball. Must bring lunch and snack.

Art Camp

 Schedule: April 4-8, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
 Where: North Phoebus Community Center, 249 W. Chamberlin Ave.
 Ages: 6-10
 Cost: $20 per child non-refundable registration fee, $50 per child/per week
 Description: Participants will experience visual art, music, song expression and theater expression. Includes field trips to local theaters and art galleries. Lunch and snack are included.

Therapeutic Recreation Camp

 Schedule: April 4-8, from 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
 Where: Therapeutic Recreation Center, 4315 Kecoughtan Rd. 
 Ages: 6-22, for children and young adults with disabilities within the Hampton City Schools system
 Cost: $100 week for PRLS member, $120 week non-member
 Registration: Begins online at noon on Tuesday, March 15
 Description: Recreational activities with peers, including games, creating and cooking. Must provide lunch and snack. Assessment required if your child has never participated in therapeutic recreation programs.

Hampton Public Library

Schedule: Daily from April 4-8. See times below.
Where: Main library branch, 4207 Victoria Blvd.
Ages: Children and teens
Cost: Free, no registration required
Description: Monday – Sidewalk chalk day, 11 a.m.-noon; Tuesday – Pets day, 10-11:30 a.m., with animals from Bluebird Gap Farm, Freed Veterinary Clinic, and Petworld; Wednesday – Bubbles day, 11 a.m.-noon; Thursday – LEGO day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.; Friday – Egg hunt day, noon-1 p.m.
