Hampton Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services is excited to start accepting registrations for a variety of fun and engaging programs and activities at centers throughout Hampton! Sing up today!

Virtual Bingo
First & Last Tuesday of each month through March
1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

You don't have to go to your local bingo hall for an exciting game of bingo. All you need is an internet connection! On the first and last Tuesday of each month, join other players ages 55+ for an online game of bingo! Each participant must register online one week prior to the game. Bingo packages are available for pick up at Hampton Senior Center Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Free for members!

Pinochle Tournament
October 12, 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Seniors (ages 55+) are invited to join others for a Pinochle tournament in a welcoming atmosphere. Seniors can compete for bragging rights and great prizes. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Registration and $5 tournament fee is required.

Pickleball
September 2 - February 21

Pickleball is a fun, exciting, and easy to learn sport that combines tennis, badminton, and ping pong.     Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 18.

Wheelchair Basketball
September 7 - February 26
Tuesday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, 11:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Wheelchair Basketball is a fast paced, competitive sport that encourages people with or without a disability to remain active. This inclusive program generates awareness. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 18. 

DIY Ceramics
September 7 - January 4

Do you love to paint and get creative? Come purchase your ceramic kit at Fort Monroe Community Center Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. The kit includes everything needed to create your own masterpiece in the comfort of your own home. Kits are $15 and include two ceramic pieces, two paint brushes, and two 6-color paint sets.

After the Clock Strikes 2: Out of School Program
September 7 - June 17
Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

After the Clock Strikes 2 offers children ages 6-12 a safe and structured environment to come to after school Monday through Friday. This enriching program provides quality educational support and recreational experiences that promote physical, intellectual, and emotional development. Designed to complement the school curriculum and strengthen a sense of community, participants receive homework help, participate in fitness activities, and explore arts and culture with several fun program activities. Registration is required. Program fee is $10 per month. 

Senior Computer Training Classes
September 7 - November 11
Monday - Thursday
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (Beginner)
11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. (Intermediate)

Interested in updating your computer skills or learning a new program? Get an introduction to graphic design, Microsoft Office-word, Excel, and more. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of every 10 week session. This class is for those over the age of 55. Registration is $10 per 10-week session.

Walk Away the Pounds
September 3 - June 17
Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

A self-directed total body walking program that gives you stretching, fat burning, toning, muscle conditioning in one energizing workout. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 18.

Senior Fitness

Tuesday & Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This fun and easy class begins with warm up exercises to get your heart rate up and gain flexibility, then cool down with low-impact dance and exercise moves standing or sitting in a chair. Participate at a level and pace that is comfortable for you. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 55. 

Line Dance
September 2 - January 27
Tuesday & Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

A fun, fast pace dance workout for every fitness level and age. This class combines easy to follow dance moves with energetic music. This class is high energy and very motivational. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 55.

Stretch to Strengthen
September 2 - January 27
Wednesday, 11:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Learn how to relax, stretch, and strengthen your core and major muscle groups. Maximize your current fitness routine or ease into a new exercise regimen. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 55.

Yogik Rhythms
September 9 - February 28
Monday & Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m.

Yogik Rhythm is a class that will guide you into a positive mindset using visualization and yoga poses that leave your mind and body in a positive and healthy space. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 18.

Teen Night
October 12 - February 15
Third Tuesday of each month, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Teen Nights are designed to offer fun teen based recreation activities that help identify skills to assist with career building, and personal development. Young people will participate in character building sessions, round table games, field trips, speakers, and movie nights. Registration open for ages 11-17. Free for members!

All-City Basketball Training Sessions
September 11 - November 27
Saturday, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (ages 8-10)
Saturday, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. (ages 11-14)

Due to high demand, the All-City Basketball Camp has extended its instruction and training model into the fall for basketball players of all skill levels. Broken down into two sessions on Saturdays, session 1 will be geared for players ages 8-10 and session 2 will be geared for players ages 11-14. Shooting, ball-handling, passing, defense, post-play and more will be taught in this four-week session. Registration is required. Program fee is $25 per four-week session.

All-City Futsal
October 7 - November 18 (no instruction on Oct. 28 & Nov. 11)
Thursday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Indoor soccer/futsal instruction and skill development for players ages 6-10 of all skill levels. New players and experienced players are welcome to experience the All-City brand. Players off all skill levels can develop under the instruction of Hampton University women's soccer assistant coach Conroy Newman. Registration is required. Program fee is $25. 

Micro Macramé Mondays
October 4 - November 22
Monday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

This craft program for adults over the age of 21 will teach basic macramé’ on a small scale. Micro-macramé is done just as regular macramé but by using smaller cord/string. You can make small items such as key chains and jewelry. Each week the class will focus on a different technique or project. All supplies provided for participants. Registration is $20 per four-week session. 

All-City Lax
November 3 - November 17
Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

This program offers an introduction to lacrosse for participants ages 10-13. The program will be instructed by former Hampton University lacrosse program founder and head coach Lloyd Carter and will teach the fundamental concepts of the sport. This program is free to the public. 

Fun Bunch
Wednesdays (ongoing), 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Seniors can have their own space and place for recreation and leisure every Wednesday morning at the North Phoebus Community Center. Each Wednesday the activity varies from bingo on the first Wednesday, to senior cinema movie selection on the second Wednesday, virtual reality headset experiences on the third Wednesday and line dancing on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Participation is free for members over the age of 55.

Group Zumba Classes to be held in person Ditch the workout and still burn up to 1,000 calories while having fun in this energetic class. Perfect for adults at all fitness levels. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 18.

Ping Pong
September 8 - January 26
Monday & Wednesday, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

This is a free play Ping pong activity where members can come socialize and have fun with each other. This fun and low risk activity will help improve flexibility, reaction and hand-eye coordination. Free for members! Participation is for those over the age of 55.

Spades Tournament
September 23, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
West Hampton Community Center

Seniors (ages 55+) are invited to join others for a spades tournament in a welcoming atmosphere. Seniors can compete for bragging rights and great prizes. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place. Registration is currently open and is free for members ($5 for non-members).

A Pink Affair: Breast Cancer Awareness
October 16, 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

An event to celebrate breast cancer survivorship, come meet others, hear them share their stories and be part of a positive and thriving breast cancer Community. Free for members. Registration required.

Family & Friends Game Night
October 20, November 17 & December 15, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Our cool Family Game Night is an awesome way for families to get together and have fun, move, play and connect with each other in a structured yet fun and safe environment. This program offers fun and competitive card games, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, board games and much more. Registration required. Free for members. $5 for non-members. Suitable for ages 6 and up. 

Trunk or Treat Book Walk
October 28, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Little England Cultural Center

Come out and showcase your Halloween costume and collect candy in a safe space! Join other trick-or-treaters ages 5-12 at the Little England parking lot with lots of parents and guardians present. No registration required! Just come out for a ghoulish good time! 

Re-Connect: Foyer of Fear
October 28, 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
North Phoebus Community Center

Parents, make sure you bring your children to renew their Re-Connect membership. If you do not have a Re-Connect membership this is the event to get a free Re-Connect open recreation activity membership. Re-Connect membership applications will be available to take home along with a bag-o-treats in the Foyer of Fear at the North Phoebus Community Center. Participation is for ages 6-17. This program is free to the public. 

Field of Screams
October 28 & 29, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Come experience an eerie fright night filled with some of your favorite terrifying attractions, like a zombie run and haunted hayride, at Northampton Community Center! Don't forget to wear your costume! Participation suitable for those over the age of 10. Registration is $5.

Community Bazaar
October 30, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
West Hampton Community Center

A family fun day where undiscovered and emerging food lovers and crafters can showcase and sell their products.  Activities include Bubbles the Clown, carnival games, cotton candy, and much more. Free and open to the public!

Now accepting applications for all vendors (food Trucks, Crafters, Merchandise vendors etc.) Vendor application deadline Sept 24, 2021.

Diamonds, & Pearls Holiday Virtual Fashion Show

Welcome to our first ever virtual timeless models fashion show. Ladies and gentlemen will walk the runway to showcase their holiday fashion. The show will be pre-recorded and release before the holidays for everyone to view. Participation is for those over the age of 55 and is free for members.

Thanksgiving Turkey Box Drive Thru

The second Annual Senior Thanksgiving Turkey Box Giveaways is a drive thru event for senior members. The box will be filled with all fixins for a delicious thanksgiving meal. Registration deadline is Nov 5, 2021. Free for senior members.

Santa's Lane
December 11, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 pm.
Northampton Community Center

Kick of the holiday season by taking a trip down Santa’s Lane. Santa’s helpers will line the way with music and decorations, as your child drops off their holiday gift list to Santa’s magic mailbox! This is a ride-through event and will be cancelled if weather is inclement. Free and open to the public! 

Virtual Visits with Santa
December 14 - 16, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Enjoy a special one-on-one virtual visit with Santa! Jolly Old Saint Nicholas will connect with you from his workshop at the North Pole and share holiday stories, find out what you presents you're wishing for, and tell you if you're on the naughty or nice list! Free and open to the public!

Holiday Celebration
December 17, 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Hampton Senior Center

Enjoy entertainment and refreshments as you mingle and celebrate the season with other seniors! Open to those over the age of 55. Registration is required and ends December 3. Free to attend!
