Health Department plans drive-through COVID testing as virus spread continues

coronavirus-nf-2

Dec. 10, 2020 - As COVID numbers rise in the Hampton Roads area, the Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts will hold two large drive-through testing events.  Both are free, and testing is open to all. Both also offer quicker-than-usual results.

The City of Hampton is a co-sponsor of the testing on Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, 1610 Coliseum Dr. Signs will direct drivers to the correct entrance and lines. Due to the expected number of people, everyone must be in a car for safety. Testing will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or as long as supplies last.

The other event, in Newport News, will be held this Saturday, Dec. 12, from 11 am to 3 p.m. at the Peninsula Health Center, 416 J. Clyde Morris Blvd. The City of Newport News is co-sponsoring that event. Residents can attend testing in either locality.
