Dec. 1, 2020 - Hampton has released a request for proposals for the FY 2021-2022 Youth Violence Prevention Mini-Grant Program. The program is designed to reduce youth-based violence in the community. The request for proposals - available online - details the funding cycles, priorities, and related information about the mini-grants.

To help potential applicants, the Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities, Virginia Cooperative Extension-4H Office, Made to Flourish-Hampton Roads, and Nikki Curry Media are offering a series of live, virtual training sessions throughout December. Although not tailored specifically for the mini-grant program, each free session will cover common components of the grant application process, including an opportunity for questions and answers.

The session dates are:

  • Dec. 8 at 6 p.m.: Grants 101
  • Dec. 10 at noon: Research and Planning for Results
  • Dec. 15 at noon: Collaboration and Recruitment
  • Dec. 17 at 6 p.m.: Branding and Marketing

Please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/fy21train to register for the training sessions. Applications for the actual mini-grant program will be available online Jan. 5 at the Youth Opportunities website
