[ARCHIVED] Hampton History Museum Free to Military Veterans Day Week November 9-17

In recognition of Veterans Day, the Hampton History Museum is offering free admission to all active and retired military, and NASA employees and their families from Saturday, November 9 through Sunday, November 17, with ID.

Additionally, the museum’s gift shop is offering 20% off all merchandise, including books, jewelry, housewares, toys, games and holiday ornaments, to the public during the same period.

The museum’s Hampton History Galleries explore over 400 years of the city’s past from Native American Habitation through the 20th Century. The museum’s latest exhibit “Toward Freedom: Hampton and the Contraband” presents the story of the thousands of enslaved African men, women and children who escaped bondage to seek freedom at Fort Monroe beginning early on in the Civil War.
