[ARCHIVED] May 19 elections: Live Facebook Q&A Thursday, voting by absentee ballot

April 30, 2020 - Mayor Donnie Tuck, City Manager Mary Bunting and Voter Registrar Tara Morgan will be on Facebook Live Thursday at 6 p.m. to talk about the May 19 local elections, voting by absentee ballot because of he COVID-19 pandemic, and more. May 5 elections were postponed for two weeks by Gov. Ralph Northam. Thursday’s Facebook Live program will be made available on the city’s cable channels (Cox47 and FIOS 22). Meanwhile, virtual forums with candidates for the school board, city council and mayor can now be seen at noon and 7 p.m. on the city’s cable channels, unless pre-empted by live meetings:

  • School board candidates: Friday, May 1; Monday, May 4; Thursday, May 7; Sunday, May 10; and Wednesday, May 13
  • City council candidates: Saturday, May 2; Tuesday, May 5; Friday, May 8; Monday, May 11; and Thursday, May 14
  • Mayor candidates: Sunday, May 3; Wednesday, May 6; Saturday, May 9; Tuesday, May 12; and Friday, May 15
