March 30, 2020 — City employees have a number of resources while Hampton continues to allow them to telework where possible to help contain the spread of the new coronavirus and maintain their well-being. Additionally, Hampton’s buildings and facilities are closed to the public until further notice. 

Contact Human Resources: Director of Human Resources Nicole Clark says the Department of Human Resources will be providing services remotely. "While our physical office in City Hall may be closed, we will continue to be available to you Monday through Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. by calling the front desk, our direct office extensions or emailing the appropriate staff member." Mental health sessions: Additionally, Human Resources is offering a series of live web-based Mindfulness Sessions for employees to help them to calm anxiety and maintain health and well-being during these challenging times. The sessions Tuesday, March 31, through Friday, April 3, are facilitated by an Aware specialist and  available on a first-come, first-served basis. See the full schedule and registration links.

Employee assistance: As always, help is available for employees through the Employee Assistance Program for various concerns, including finances, physical and mental health, workplace concerns and more. In addition, Optima EAP is offering a video webinar at noon April 2, "Optima EAP Website 101 – Giving You the Resources You Seek," to help employees navigate their assistance options.
