March 10, 2020 - Hampton’s Community Development Department will sponsor a free three-hour seminar next month on the Fair Housing Law. Property managers, real estate agents, lenders, tenants, landlords, and others can all learn about the rules that govern the sales, rental or financing of housing. Housing providers who complete the seminar are eligible for Fair Housing Board certification. Seating is limited and registration is required by April 3.

The seminar will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 4-7 p.m. at Sentara Careplex Hospital, 3000 Coliseum Drive. Mahalia Dryden-Mason, fair-housing training specialist with Virginia’s Fair Housing Office, will talk about protected classes, disability concerns, advertising, occupancy standards and much more. Meals will be provided.

To register, go online or call Hampton’s 3-1-1 Citizen Contact Center. For more information, contact Shellae Blackwell at sblackwell@hampton.gov.
