March 6, 2020 - Starting Monday, March 9, and continuing to the end of the month, the Hampton Roads Sewer District will be doing sanitary sewer work that will require temporarily closing some lanes at the intersection of Big Bethel Road and West Mercury Boulevard. During the sewer work, motorist on Big Bethel Road will have to take a signed detour around the intersection.

Motorists traveling in either direction on Mercury Boulevard who want to access Big Bethel Road will have to take Gumwood Drive to Butternut Drive to Aspenwood Drive and then Albany Drive to Big Bethel. Motorists traveling west on Mercury will detour to Yale Drive and Butternut Drive to Big Bethel. The timing of the work depends on the weather. For more details, visit the HRSD Newsroom online.
