[ARCHIVED] Work begins March 23 on Buckroe Boardwalk Renovations, including regrading, rebuilding bike lanes

March 5, 2020 - Hampton is getting ready for beach season. New sand was recently added to Buckroe Beach from a dredging project, and it has now been spread and combed to remove any remaining rocks and debris. Also, work begins March 23 on Buckroe Boardwalk Renovations, a Parks department capital improvement project that will include regrading portions of the park and reconstructing the bike lane. The work will take take place from Point Comfort Avenue to Buckroe Avenue. It is scheduled to be finished before Memorial Day weekend. Portions of the bike lane will be closed during the renovation, but the boardwalk will remain open. More improvements will be made after the 2020 summer beach season.
