[ARCHIVED] Monday, Feb. 10, is the deadline to register to vote in the Democratic presidential primary

Feb. 7, 2020 - Monday, Feb. 10, is the last day to register or update your voter registration for the March 3 Virginia Democratic presidential primary. Here’s how:

  • By mail: Applications must be postmarked by Feb. 10.
  • In-person: Applications must be submitted by 5 pm Feb. 10.
  • Online: Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm Feb. 10.

Any Virginian can check or update their registration name or address, or register for the first time at the Department of Election’s online Citizen Portal at www.elections.virginia.gov/vote.

Key dates for the primary

  • Feb. 10: Last day to register to vote or update your address for this election. If you move, your polling place will change.
  • Feb. 25 by 5 p.m.: Last day to request that an absentee ballot be mailed to you.
  • Feb. 29: Last day to vote an absentee ballot, in person, at your local voter registration office.
  • March 3: Election Day, and polls open from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.
