[ARCHIVED] 2 Hampton businesses recognized list among fastest-growing companies in U.S.

Aug. 28, 2019 - Two Hampton-based businesses, Threat Tec and Applied Training Solutions,  were listed in the the Inc  5000 list of fastest growing companie. Threat Tec was included on the list for the first time, and Applied Training Solutions was also on the list in 2017. 

Threat Tec (#2737), founded in 2012, is a veteran-owned business that provides consulting services determining threat assessments in the real and "virtual" world. They also provide modeling and simulation software development, weapon systems design, drone technology development for defense and "dummy" weaponry for use in the motion picture industry. Based in Hampton, Threat Tec has 600 staff members and contractors nationwide, many at bases in Georgia, North Carolina, California, Kansas, Maryland and Louisiana. According to Inc., the company grew by 140% over three years and saw $12.3 million in revenues for 2018. 

Applied Training Solutions (#4277), founded in 2009, is a national leader in management, staff training and innovative technology solutions that create awareness, preparedness and readiness for teams in emergency situations as well as the full spectrum of defense related operations. They support staff and personnel in exercises, with focused issues and scenarios related to emergency response, specifically weather or man-made events - including weather, evacuations, and active shooter scenarios - and reporting requirements to ensure business continuity and organizational readiness. According to Inc., the company has grown 72 percent over three years, and saw $11.9 million in revenues in 2018.
