St. George Brewery's Golden Ale wins U.S. Beer Tasting Championship

Aug. 27, 2019 - The St. George Brewery's Golden Ale was named Grand Chamption best golden ale or Kolsh in the United States Beer Tasting Championship for the second year in a row.

The brewery's Doppelbock was ranked best in the Southeast region as well. 

Hampton's oldest craft brewery, St. George was founded in 1998. It is located on 204 Challenger Way.

The United States Beer Tasting Championship conducts separate field trials for beers from six different regions of the country. Those field trials first determine regional winners in each category. The top beers are then pitted against each other in order to name a national grand champion. The USBTC is held each year in two separate sessions, one winter and one Summer
