Volunteers Make HCCC Go Round!

Volunteers make the HCCC world go round, and this fall we need your help big time! Take a look at this list and see when you can lend a hand. So much to do to make Hampton cleaner and more beautiful!


INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP, September 1 – October 31

Volunteers needed to lead cleanup sites and to clean up cleanup sites throughout the fall from the beginning to the end! Most cleanups will last no more than two hours. Land and water sites available. Boating cleanup volunteers must provide their own boat and have their own life jackets.

ARTS IN THE PARK, September 7, 10am – 6pm

Volunteers needed to staff the display table in shifts.

COMMUNITY CLEANUP, Little Back River Road, September 20, 9am – 10:30am

Volunteers needed to clean up street between Gosnold’s Hope Park and Harris Creek Road.

COMMUNITY APPEARANCE & LITTER INDEX, October 9, 8am – 5pm, lunch provided

Volunteers will evaluate 100 sites in Hampton for litter, abandoned vehicles, graffiti, illegal signs, and outdoor storage. Volunteers will be trained before embarking on the index. This activity is required for Hampton Clean City Commission to retain its good standing with Keep America Beautiful.

VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION DINNER, October 24, 3:30pm – 8pm

Volunteers are needed for setup and take-down of the event, dinner included.

SCHOOLS INDEX, October 26, 8:30am – 5pm, lunch provided

Volunteers will evaluate public school sites in Hampton for curb appeal, waste handling, and outer building maintenance. Volunteers will be trained before embarking on the index.

TREE PLANTING, November 2 (tentative)

Volunteers needed to plant trees, location and time to be determined, most likely starting in the morning.

HCCC CHRISTMAS DINNER, December 10

Volunteers who are interested in attending the HCCC Christmas Dinner can join in with other HCCC volunteers and supporters to share good times and look ahead to 2020. Separate checks.
