[ARCHIVED] Flood advisory in effect until 5 p.m. Wednesday

The Wakefield office of the weather service expects the storm to stay around until the early part of the weekend, but the strongest effects from the storm will be today and Thursday.

According to the weather service, this area is in the middle of a high pressure system to the north and a low pressure system to the south which is tightening the pressure gradient causing water to be pushed inland.

Tidal departures will average 1.5 feet above normal for the region. The timeframe to watch for flooding is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. today.

Hampton's Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor the storm.
