[ARCHIVED] Event to focus on animal care, laws, Animal Control and wildlife

Jan. 14, 2019 - All things related to animals — from the care of our pets to the behavior of wildlife — will be the focus at Paws, Claws & Tails. The free Jan. 30 event will feature talks, displays and and chance to speak to experts, sponsored by the Hampton Animal Control Advisory Committee.

Participating groups and topics include:

  • Animal-related laws and enforcement by Hampton Animal Control
  • Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter’s functions and programs
  • Pet wellness care and disease control, by the American Animal Hospital Association
  • Virginia Wildlife and Inland Fisheries Department discussing animals on the wild side.

Additional organizations that will have exhibits or be experts available include: Hampton Clean City Commission, Emergency Management, Peninsula SPCA, Animal Aid Society, Peninsula Chicken Keepers (PECK), Mutts with a Mission, Joy Chi Veterinary Acupuncture, chiropractic, and end of life care, Cat Corner/Kitty City Feral Cat Colony, and Operation Catsnip- Cat spay/neuter

The event will be held at the Northampton Community Center, 1435-A Todds Lane, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30. For more information and to RSVP, contact the city’s 311 center at 727-8311. (Reservations are not mandatory but help us plan for space.)
