Oct. 5, 2018 - The Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority has been rated a “High Performer” agency in both key measures used by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.
One set of standards grades public housing — fiscal management, physical buildings, and construction and ongoing funding. HRHA scored more than 91 points of a possible 100 on that Public Housing Assessment System for the fiscal year ending 12/31/2017. On the Section Eight Management Assessment Program for the same time period, the agency earned a perfect score.
HRHA Executive Director Ronald Jackson said: “The high performer designation is the highest honor bestowed by HUD to housing authorities. Earning that designation in one of the programs is a special achievement, however, to earn that honor in both of our major housing programs is a rare achievement among public housing authorities. This honor is a testament to the vision of our Board of Commissioners and the continued hard work and dedication of the HRHA staff.”
