Oct. 11, 2018 -Due to the threat of bad weather, a number of city offices or programs are closed this afternoon:

  • All community and neighborhood centers run by the Department of Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services will close at 6 p.m.
  • After-school programs sponsored by Parks, including Beyond the Bell and Therapeutic Recreation programs, are canceled and parents are asked to pick up students as soon as possible. Students will still be received by programs until parents can make arrangements to pick them up.
  • The James T. Wilson Fishing Pier closes at 5 p.m,. and will reopen Friday when high winds subside.

Conditions created by Tropical Storm Michael have prompted the National Weather Service to issue a tornado watch for this area until 9 p.m. tonight. The area is also under a flash flood watch.
