Write as rain image

Oct. 9, 2018 - "Write as Rain" is a sidewalk messaging campaign that shares environmentally-friendly messages at schools, libraries and other places across Hampton Roads, using custom-made stencils and rain-resistant spray.

The goal is to encourage young people to think twice about the impact their actions can have on the environment. The messages  - including "I won't stand for litter," "Purge the Plastic, I choose tap water" and "I pledge only rain down the drain," are easily visible when it rains or the sidewalk gets wet.

Students and others are encouraged to share pictures and videos of the messages they find. Those who post an image by Oct. 26 using the #askHRgreen hashtag will be entered into a drawing for fun prizes. visit askHRgreen.org for more information.
