September 12, 2018 - City Manager's Message: Hurricane Florence Update/Operational Status for Thursday 9-13-18

As promised, I am writing to provide you with our operational plans for tomorrow. The storm track has steadily improved for our community. However, we still expect storm impacts due to heavy rains, high tides combined with storm surge and winds. Accordingly, the Governor's mandatory evacuation order for Zone A remains in effect. That said, we are not expecting these effects to come until late Thursday evening or Friday. Therefore, our plan for tomorrow is to follow today's protocol. Liberal leave remains in effect when coordinated with department heads and/or supervisors. Employees in the Zone A buildings noted below should continue to report to their alternate locations unless they are taking leave.

We will continue to monitor conditions. If and when we believe there is an employee safety need to do so, we will consider closures or early releases. However, at this point, we are not expecting such a need to arise during the work day tomorrow.
