[ARCHIVED] Second annual Words on Wheels bicycle tour of downtown set for Sunday, Sept. 23

Sept. 7, 2018 - The second annual Words on Wheels, sponsored by Sly Clyde Ciderworks, will be held Sunday, Sept. 23, from 2-4 p.m. The event was rained out earlier this year, and this month's bike ride will replace the usual Sunday bicycle cruise.

During Words on Wheels teams of riders collect letters from participating businesses, then return to play words on over-sized boards to see who can build a word with the highest point value. This event is a great way to peek into some new businesses, bike casually, and play a classic board game.

No registration is required and riders of all ages and skill levels are invited. You'll leave from Sly Clyde, 207 East Mellen St., and tour downtown Hampton, Phoebus and Fort Monroe. Parking is available on street and in public lots on County and Lancer streets.
