bike-walk

Aug. 1, 2018 - The "Bike with the Birds," originally scheduled for last month will be held Thursday, Aug. 2.  Sponsored by the Peninsula Pilots baseball team, the after-work ride includes a cruise through the Wythe neighborhood before enjoying a Pilots home game against the Martinsville Mustangs.

For all of those who join the ride, organizers will randomly distribute 25 game tickets and event T-shirts. If you don't get a ticket and t-shirt package, tickets will be just $5, so stay for the game and hang out with the Bike Walk crew. The ride will leave War Memorial Stadium about 5:30 p.m., and parking is available on-site.

The ride will be casual, suitable for most skill levels and for all bike types.  No registration is necessary. The 25 tickets and t-shirt packages will be distributed after the ride. Helmets are required for riders 14 or younger, and recommended for all ages.  Those under 18 should have a responsible adult  present.

The ride will leave War Memorial Stadium about 5:30 p.m., and parking is available on-site.
