July 13, 2018 - The Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities wants your input on creating a comprehensive safety plan for Hampton neighborhoods. The first "community conversation" will be held  from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 26, at the Y.H. Thomas Community Center, 1300 Thomas St. The second conversation will be held from 11:30-1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, at the North Phoebus Community Center, 249 Chamberlin Ave.

Working with Cities United – a national organization focused on eliminating violence in American cities related to African-American men and boys – Youth and Young Adult Opportunities hopes to develop a ten-year action plan for creating safe, healthy and hopeful communities across Hampton.

Food will be provided during both sessions. To RSVP or to get more information, email  Darius.Swift@Hampton.gov. Learn more online about the Office of Youth and Young Adult Opportunities or Cities United.
