Gosnolds Hope Park shelter

Hampton's Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services Department continues to make changes and improvements designed to make your trip to city parks even more enjoyable:

  • Gosnold's Hope Park has a new 300-seat shelter available for rent. The River Birch Picnic Shelter has 43 tables, three tables that meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards, and two charcoal grills. It's just one of the many amenities available at the park, including a playground, public boat ramp and walking track. To learn more about Gosnold, and how to reserve one of the many shelters, visit the website.
  • At Buckroe Beach, designated staff are working on weekends and peak holidays to help visitors with directions and information while maintaining parking lots, including overflow, in and around the beach. A cleaning company has been hired to maintain park restrooms. And, plans are in place to put colorful new chairs and tables near the food vendor area.
