July 5, 2018 – The Hampton Health Department Friday lifted the swimming advisory for Buckroe Beach South. That part of Buckroe Beach has been closed since Tuesday because of an elevated bacteria count. A new sample that was taken from the area Thursday morning shows that the count had dropped.

The swimming advisory was for an area starting at about 100 First St. and continuing south on the beach. The Health Department regularly monitors recreational waters for bacteria during the summer swimming season.
