March 15, 2018 - Veterans, the elderly, disabled and low-income homeowners in the Northampton area near Headrow Terrace and Cynthia Drive are encouraged to sign up for the next Hampton Home Repair Blitz. Volunteers are also needed for the May 5 event.
Sponsored by the City of Hampton, Habitat for Humanity, and the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the Blitz provides volunteers and thousands of dollars in donated material to make exterior repairs on selected homes. This includes painting, window repair, power washing, debris removal and more. All the work is free or at minimal cost.

A meeting will be held for skilled volunteers willing to serve as team leaders on Thursday, April 5, from 5-6 p.m. in the Community Development Conference room on the fifth floor of City Hall, 22 Lincoln St.
Since it began in 2012, the twice-a-year Blitz has helped repair more than 150 homes in Hampton with the help of nearly 2,000 volunteers. Partners have included a number of local businesses and organizations, including Hampton High School, the U.S. Coast Guard, the United Way, and LifePointe Christian Church.
