[ARCHIVED] Proposed Amendments

The City of Hampton is proposing to amend the FY2011-2015 Consolidated Plan for Housing and Community Development and the 2013-2014 Consolidated Annual Action Plan which includes the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) budget. The amendments are as follows:

  • FY2011-2015 Consolidated Plan – To incorporate policies pertaining to the provision of publically assisted housing in the city. The proposed amendment would provide guidance to ensure that Hampton will meet but not exceed its regional fair share distribution of publically assisted housing.  It would address both the number and distribution of publically assisted housing units in the city. In addition, the proposed amendment would incorporate the City’s Safe and Clean Campaign, which focuses on improving safety and the quality of life in Hampton.
  • FY2012-2013 Annual Action Plan – To add Code Enforcement to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Budget.  This will enable the City to hire additional Codes Inspectors to help implement the Safe and Clean Campaign.
Council meeting on September 25, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.  All interested agencies, groups and persons wishing to comment on the proposed amendments may attend the public hearing or submit written remarks to:  Angelique Shenk, Housing & Neighborhood Services Division, 22 Lincoln Street, Hampton, VA 23669 by September 26, 2013.  For additional information, please contact Angelique Shenk at 727-6192 or ashenk@hampton.gov.
