[ARCHIVED] Bluebird Gap Farm, Buckroe Beach, in the running for 2018 'Best of..." awards

Feb. 22, 2018 - Several city attractions are in the running this year for the Best of Readers' Choice Awards sponsored by Coastal Virginia Magazine. They include Bluebird Gap Farm and Buckroe Beach as best family friendly attractions; Buckroe Beach as best place to hear local music; Buckroe Beach and the fishing pier as best local attractions; and Buckroe Beach as best place to hike or walk.

Bluebird Gap Farm is a 60-acre park with 150 domestic and wild animals, a covered pavilion with picnic tables and snack and drink vending machines. Admission is free.

Buckroe Beach is a Bay front park with ¾ mile of clean beach, three shelters, a children's playground and a stage pavilion.

Voting for the awards is open through March 30. Go online for more information on all of the "Best of... " candidates, including the Virginia Air and Space Center, various city restaurants and other venues.

Coastal Virginia Magazine, which debuted in 2000, considers itself the area's leading resource for arts and entertainment, fine dining, local issues and interests.
