Feb. 15, 2018 - Imagine. Invent. Inspire.

Those are the key words this year for "Little Heroes at Home, Celebration of the Military Child." The annual event honoring local military children for their service, sacrifice and strength of character will take place Saturday, April 7, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

There will be a number of child-friendly activities and fun for all ages, including games, face painting, giveaways and more. The event is free with military I.D. and all service members and their families are welcome. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, designating April as the month of the military child underscores the important role military children play in the armed forces community.

Sponsors for the Hampton celebration include Hampton's Military Affairs Committee and the Flagship and Peninsula Warrior newspapers.
