[ARCHIVED] “A Stand Down for Homeless and At-Risk Veterans and their Families”

The Hampton VAMC Homeless Programs and Hampton Military Affairs Committee are co-sponsoring “A Stand Down for Homeless and At-Risk Veterans and their Families” on Saturday, November 16th, at the Y. H. Thomas Community Center in Hampton, Virginia. The event will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 3:00 PM. The Y. H. Thomas Community Center is located at 1300 Thomas Street.

The Stand Down is a one day event serving veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. With assistance from government agencies, DAV and VFW, and community agencies who serve the homeless, the Stand Down will provide flu shots, health screenings (rapid HIV testing), VA enrollment, access to VA healthcare and residential programs, employment assistance through VEC and VAMC, Benefit and Claims assistance, food, showers, and more.
