Feb. 15, 2018 - The City of Hampton will have a public meeting on Friday, March 2, to discuss a draft of the Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load action plan and a draft of the Back River Bacteria Total Maximum Daily Load action plan.
These plans address the maximum amount of pollutants that a body of water can receive while still meeting government water quality standards.
Although there are separate plans covering different bodies of water – the Chesapeake Bay and Back River – there is some overlap, and the city seeks separate comments for each one.
The public meeting will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Mach 2, in the Community Development Conference Room on the 5th floor of City Hall, 22 Lincoln St.
After the public meeting the drafts will be available for review – by appointment – in the Public Works Department at City Hall. You will also be able to request copies of the plans. And, there will be a public comment period through April 2. Comments will be accepted via an online form, hand-delivery, email, fax or postal mail. All comments must include your name, mailing address and telephone number.
To get a copy of the plans, make a comment or get more information, contact Sharon Surita, Hampton Public Works Department, 4th floor, 22 Lincoln St., Hampton, Va. 23669; email Sharon.email@example.com; or fax 757-727-6123.
