Oct. 18, 2017 - Hampton is working with Anthem’s WalkingWorks program to initiate “Let’s Move Hampton,” a 6-week physical activity initiative open to all city employees regardless of fitness levels.

Walking is an easy, safe and inexpensive activity that burns calories, conditions the heart, improves muscle tone and reduces stress. The primary goal of “Let’s Move Hampton” is to improve daily physical activity by doing anything that gets you moving.

Registered participants will receive weekly email updates, additional activities, motivations, and reminders from WalkingWorks. Participants are asked to consult with their primary care physician to get medical clearance for the program.

Registered participants who complete weekly goals are also eligible for raffle prizes, including gift cards, Yeti Cups, and the Fitbit Charge 2. Registration for “Let’s Move Hampton” opens Wednesday, Oct. 18 and closes at midnight Sunday, Oct. 22. The program begins Monday, Oct. 23 and ends Monday, Dec. 4.
