Sept. 25, 2017 - Hampton City Manager Mary Bunting Monday announced a series of events for city employees to celebrate "the great job our Hampton team does" and to "re-focus and re-dedicate ourselves to continuing excellence in serving our customers."

  • On Monday during Customer Service Week 2017, which begins Oct. 2, Human Resources will offer a Lunch and Learn workshop from 2-3 p.m. related to this topic.
  • Tuesday morning, the Conventions and Visitors Bureau will offer a city tour designed to better acquaint some of our staff with the rich history and attractions that Hampton offers.
  • Then take a cruise on Wednesday afternoon with the Miss Hampton II, at the Hampton Maritime Center.
  • On Thursday, join the Citizens’ Unity Commission as they present “The Power of Inclusion” for lunch at the Hampton History Museum.

There are limited seats for all of the above events,  and employees need to get their supervisor’s approval to register.

On Friday,  Oct. 27, the city manager invites staff to an Employee Appreciation Lunch that will be held from noon-2 p.m. at Bluebird Gap Farm. "Because Parks will be setting up for a big weekend fall festival, we are able to extend the event and offer employees lunch and a sampling of some of the fun activities that will be a part of the weekend festival. It’s not technically during Customer Service Week, but please think of this as a way I and my staff can thank you for the excellent work you do every day for our customers."
